FAQ

How do you approach complex product problems?

I approach complexity with deep curiosity and a focus on clarity. I start by understanding the core problem, the business context behind it, and what’s driving the pain. From there, I collaborate with PMs to break the problem down into tangible artifacts — like workflows, problem statements, and persona write-ups — to help the team align around a shared narrative. Once the problem is mapped and understood, we can prioritize what’s most meaningful to solve and make smarter, more focused decisions.

What's your role when collaborating with PM's and engineers?

I am heavily involved with all craft teams including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Quality Assurance personnel. This helps create an environment of transparency and helps me stay aligned on business goals, user pains, scope priority, feasibility & constraints, and the development of the product.

What kind of problems or products excite you?

I love working on problems that aim to disrupt industries or make a breakthrough in their field. A few examples — Cold Bore's SmartPad revolutionizing well completions or Cloth AI's mobile app aiming to rethink how we shop for clothes (this was a personal startup idea of mine!). Being at the edge of technology or future vision thinking is where I love to be.

What sets you apart from other designers?

I am a "Zero-to-One" designer. Which means I have experience working in all phases of the product development process from inception to MVP, or MLP for a variety of B2B startup and enterprises. I thank the startup environment I was forged in for helping me gain exposure to a ton of different problems, domains, and industries. This means you can put me in any phase of your process and I will be comfortable to contribute.

What are you exploring or learning right now?

Good question! I am currently adding to my skill set by tacking on skills & responsibilities from product managers. There's a lot of overlap between Product Designers and PMs, and closing the gap between the two is helping me improve my product sense and high-level product vision.

Still got questions?
